15 days to go!!!

Well, I have 15 days to go until the expected arrival date of Baby #2. I am very excited to meet this baby and so is LL. We went to a sibling class at the hospital last weekend and he LOVED it. He got to practice holding a baby (toy) wrapped in a blanket and see where the baby would stay for a little while after it was born. Of course, there is a robot that walks the halls and that was the biggest hit of all! We'll have to take pictures of it for you.

In any case, we have our own baby doll here at home and he just loves to hold it and sit with it. He wants it to sleep with him in his bed, but we can't do that for fear of him wanting the real baby to sleep with him. So far he seems really excited to have his new baby brother/sister join us, but we shall see once he/she gets here and he/she doesn't leave!

One of these days I will get the Sea World pictures on this blog, but not today.

Peace out!

Hot Rodder

So, Lucas isn't excited about riding his 4 wheeler the correct way. He would much rather ride it like his Aunt Cathey used to ride her motorcycles. (My sister used to stand on the seat and lean over to drive it while her two-year old sister - me - was on the front smiling!!)

35 weeks down, 35 days to go!

You tell me...am I carrying them basically the same or is there a drastic difference? I can't really tell and maybe I need to take a better picture now? Who knows. LOL

Busy times

Well, we are still here. I just realized today that it has been almost 2 months since my last post!

I went to Texas for two weeks - one week to see family and the other my extended family went to San Antonio. It was just me and little Lucas joining as dad was unable to get off work. I'll post pictures soon, but that leads me to the other issue.

I can't find the cable that connects from my digital camera to my laptop to download pictures. You see, while I was in Texas, Lucas packed up our whole apartment and moved us into a house! (Yes, I knew about it.) He didn't want to fight me about not lifting and doing too much, so he just did it while I was gone. Wasn't that nice?! So me and the little guy came back to a large home - instead of a 550 sq. ft. apartment, we now live in a 1700 sq. ft. home! We still aren't sure what to do with all the room!

In any case, I will post pictures soon.

Lucas is two!

Well, I can hardly believe that Lucas is now 2 years old. It seems like just the other day we were in the hospital waiting for him to come, and after 18 hours of labor, he showed up!

I can hardly believe all that he can do - and in just 2 years. He can understand me so well and obeys instructions (for the most part) very well. He talks constantly when he is with me and he absolutely loves "quack quacks" (ducks), trucks, tractors, "boobu" (school bus), "ho" (horses), any animal really, "sna" (snacks), and Dadda and Poppa. He truly is one of the joys in my life.
We love to do puzzles together, make silly noises and go to the park - either to play or to walk around the pond looking for quack quacks.
He loves taking showers and enjoys singing in the shower and in the microphone at church. He loves to dance (mostly to "Oh Suzannah") and loves to laugh. He has such a sweet spirit about him and can make anyone's day - even mine when we don't have good days.
He seems very excited about the new baby as he kisses my belly often and then sits and stares at each little baby that we might come into contact with. He is very intrigued by birds and airplanes and could sit and watch the tractor doing its job all day long. He truly never ceases to find life fascinating.
I can't imagine what life will be like in a few months with another one coming along. I wonder how I will be able to continue loving him and loving a new one at the same time. I can't imagine my life without him. He truly is a gift from the Lord.

I love you, Lucas. You are mommy's big helper, and I look forward to teaching you more about God and some day about Jesus Christ - the greatest gift you could ever receive!

Graduation Day!

What a weekend! My parents flew in yesterday, and today we went down to MA for graduation. It was a little surreal as it still doesn't feel like we have graduated from GCTS. I know when September comes and I'm not worried about classes I will feel much relief then!

It was a great day having friends and family there to celebrate with us. Afterwards, we came back to the area and had Little Lucas' 2nd birthday party! I can't believe it has been 2 years since he was born. My how time flies. Here are some pics from the day.

Buh-bye

So, we are both officially done with Gordon-Conwell. It has been a great ride, though I'm still a little burned out and unable to say my true feelings! LOL

Lucas began his time in January of 2003. Many ups and downs occurred for him during his time there. Mostly ups, as I joined him in 2005. But, it was the year of 2004 that is really cool because the Lord gave him a vision of me with his children and said that I was the one he was going to marry. I had no idea of this until October 2004 - after living for 9 months in England! So, in January 2005, I was accepted to GCTS, and we started dating.

We both intended to get an M.Div. degree (you can email me if you want to know what this is), but as time would tell, I would not be able to complete the degree in my lifetime! We were engaged in June 2005, married in August 2005 (love short engagements!) and then found out that we had a honeymoon baby to arrive in May 2006! This was not in the plan, but looking back, I can't imagine my life being any different.

This past Fall, I changed my degree program to MAME (Cultural Studies, as I like to say), as we realized that if we want to add to our family and head overseas, we need to get me done with school. (I had only completed 1/2 of the degree requirements for M.Div. in 3 years, so it would take another 3 years to complete - uh, No thank you. Drive thru.) This was a great decision and one that we felt the Lord had intended in the first place.

So, we are both on the other side of the whole process. We have a baby arriving in August and we won't be in school!! What will that be like? I'm so excited to find out.

Lucas finished his degree with a 3.1 GPA - incredible! This does nothing to show how incredibly intelligent he is. I truly think that he is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met...

I finished with a 3.5, which is amazing. It's funny though, because this is the lowest GPA I have ever gotten, yet I feel that I learned more during my time at GCTS than I did in college with a 4.0! Praise the Lord!

Just wanted to share the good news. We will be graduating this Saturday, as well as having Little Lucas' 2nd birthday party. It is going to be one busy day, but we look forward to the celebration and the opportunity to move on to the next chapter in our lives!

Pictures to come soon!

A first

Well, the little guy loves to play outside. He could live outside on bark (he likes to chew on it oddly enough) and just running and sliding on the playground. He was at daycare one day and he fell on the concrete and got the scrape on the left side (your left). Then, the next day, he fell again and you see the injuries on the right side. Poor guy. But, he's a trooper. Cries for a second or two and then wants down to be able to play more and DOES NOT need bandaids!!!

He fell again the other day and knocked his noggin - now he has a huge welt on his forehead and a scrape under his eye. He looks so bad, so I told him that the other guy better look worse!! (I'm prepping at being a mom to boys!)

This picture was priceless. They fell asleep together one night - they were both so exhausted - so I had to take a picture of it. These are my Lucas'! (Yes, they are in his toddler bed. You know daddy is tired when he can fall asleep in a toddler bed being all cramped up!)
